Lead lists, canvassing apps, or saturation mail? Start with your customers.

Pest and lawn companies usually grow a route with some mix of a bought list, a door-knocking app, and a mailer that goes to every door. Here's what each one does well, what it leaves out, and where GroundWatchHQ fits.

Bought lead lists

A list is a file of names and addresses that matched a set of filters. It's fast to get and easy to hand to a mail house. What it doesn't know is where your trucks already go, so the homes on it are spread across your whole area instead of clustered around the accounts you already service. Every step after the download, from mailing to tracking to follow-up, happens somewhere else.

Canvassing apps

Door-to-door apps are built for the knock: territories, routes, and a quick way to log what happened at each door. They're a good fit for a dedicated sales team that canvasses every day. Most pest and lawn companies don't have one. When the knocking is done by a tech with a spare half hour, the app needs to point at the right handful of doors, and mail has to do the rest of the reaching.

Saturation mail

Saturation mail delivers a piece to every address on the carrier routes you choose, with no names and no mailing list. It reaches a lot of homes cheaply, including your current customers, apartments, and homes that were never going to buy. Because the pieces aren't tied to an address you picked, you learn what worked only if someone calls with a code.

Where GroundWatchHQ fits

GroundWatchHQ starts from the customers you already have. Every property in your county is on the map, so you pull the homes around your accounts, narrow them by property type, size, or recent sale, and mail them postcards with a QR code that shows who scanned. The office follows up with the people who respond, and techs can knock the nearby doors from the mobile app when there's time. Everything lands in one pipeline, so you can see which new accounts came from where.

Questions

Common questions.

Is GroundWatchHQ a lead list?

No. Every property in your county is already on the map, and you choose which homes to reach, usually the ones around your current customers. You aren't buying a file of names.

How is this different from saturation mail?

Saturation mail goes to every address on the carrier routes you pick, with no names. With GroundWatchHQ you pick the homes, and a QR code on every piece shows you who scanned.

Do we still need a separate canvassing app?

Usually not. The GroundWatchHQ mobile app shows the properties near you, works a route stop by stop, and logs the outcome at each door, even offline.

We don't have a sales team. Does it still work?

Yes. Most of the reaching is done by mail, the office follows up with the people who respond, and techs knock nearby doors only when they have time.
